About Christo Pellani

Christo is a dynamic individual with a diverse range of talents. Recognized as a master drummer/percussionist, teacher, and healer, he facilitates human potential by creating experiences that blend principles of rhythm and sound awareness for personal expression and wellness.
Christo’s musical journey led him from entertainment to community service by virtue of a series of life changing experiences with community drumming circles. After touring the world playing concerts with the likes of Air Supply, Mary Wells, The Shirrelles, and Fabien Maman, he answered a spiritual calling to support people in unfolding the expression of their truth and purpose. His dedication to community service springs from his years as a social worker with various counseling and therapeutic recreation programs such as The Men’s Center of Los Angeles, The Rhythmic Arts Project, Mi Star and Hearts Giving Hope.
In his words: “My passion for music and my spiritual path converged and something new and wonderful was birthed. I discovered the profound effect of how drumming and sound creates a sense of healing and transformation in people. Something uplifting happens when we come together to create a sense of community expression through rhythm and sound. This is “Sound-formation”. We create a special type of magic when we communicate through a sound and rhythm language, compelling us to tune into each other in a new exciting manner. This collaboration re-powers us to unify our individual talents. Sound and rhythm are the most powerful mediums I have experienced to accelerate change, transition and self awareness.”
Schools, retreats, conferences, and festivals seek after Christo’s unique interactive classes, seminars, ceremonies, and play-shops. Christo created the Earth and Sky Lodge in Los Angeles in 2004. The multi-faceted healing and performing arts community center is home for Soundformation, and is affiliated with the International Humanities Center.
Christo is also an accomplished recording artist, producer, event coordinator, and rhythm awareness facilitator with extensive worldwide performance experience. He has released 2 critically acclaimed self produced recordings of world/ambient music on his Earth and Sky record label, which are regularly featured on the Sacred Sounds and OM Stream internet radio stations.
His many film and TV credits include The Today Show, Entertainment Tonight, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Parent Trap Three, The Super, and Casper, a Spirited Beginning. Christo is in high demand for recording, instruction, and accompaniment for expressive movement artists. He has been a regularly featured performer at the World Festival of Sacred Music.
Christo was featured as one of ten “Unsung Drumming Heroes of Los Angeles” as chosen by BAM magazine. His extensive master studies include music of Africa, Brazil, India, and Bali, and his interests and passions include world music, illustration, sacred geometry, and traveling the world. He has designed and markets a unique customized Balinese hand carved djembe drum. Christo is an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church and maintains private percussion instruction and personal wellness practices in Los Angeles.
